This year has been a great year in continuing to advance gay rights/activism. More than ever, gay couples are becoming a prevalent and accepted part of society, with the push for gay marriage equality at an all time high. Regardless, homophobia still exists and is nowhere near from extinct in our world. Cole Ledford- Coming Out Is Worth It

Cole Ledford, the brave 20 year old who was attacked for being gay, already said he would offer his attacker forgiveness. Cole has taken the bad situation he went through and turned it around to raise awareness to tons of people. Cole Ledford was the victim of a vicious homophobic attack on November 6th. A message he posted on his twitter moments after he was punched in the face for simply kissing his boyfriend went viral, and Cole has become an overnight sensation. He seems to be using his newfound recognition in the right manner. Opinion: We Don’t Need To Come Out, We Need To Come In

We live in a very progressive world, especially compared to 10 years ago or so. More and more states are legalizing gay marriage, and more often people are feeling comfortable to come out. In fact, this morning, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook came out in Business Insider. This got me thinking that, as progressive as we are, there still is a lack of progression in the world. I do NOT believe coming out should even be a thing, unless you mean you’re coming outside to meet someone. What do I mean?  (more…)
